How to Edit Colors of the Graphic Elements in Your Resume

Introduction

Most of the graphic elements (Word Shapes) in our Resume templates are added as "Shape" (except some elements in the Resume Template 005 and 006 - more read also on this page). You can change colors and size of the graphic elements.

Select a shape by clicking on it. The "Drawing Tools" appear in the ribbon, with the "Format" tab active.

To change the color click "Shape Fill". You can choose color from the "Theme Colors", but if you want to have more options click "More Fill Colors" and make sure that the "Custom" tab is active.

The Statement section background is created as a table background. The table is divided into three parts (not visible unless you enable "View Gridlines" under "Table Tools" -> "Layout"). This means that you need to change the color for all 3 elements. If you prefer you can make it 2 colors background or even 3 colors background.

First method. Select all the text with also left and right tables. You need to start selecting from the left edge of the resume page to the right edge. The selection will be similar to the screenshot below (all the text and left and right "ears"):

When it is selected go to "Table Tools" -> "Design" and click "Shading", then "More Colors" and "Custom" tab:

Second method. Click on the Statement text and go to "Table Tools" -> "Layout" and click "View Gridlines". Now you can see that the Statement section is divided into 3 sections. Each section can have a different color. Click on the left section and go to "Table Tools" -> "Design" and click "Shading", then "More Colors" and "Custom" tab. Here you will be able to change color only for this part.

When you are done click on the part with the text (the middle part) and do the same thing as before. Do it also for the right part.
